So you’ve been natural for a couple of years and you’re loving it. You finally have enough length to do some of the hairstyles you’ve been drooling over on YouTube. But it’s easy for your creative mojo to run low. You’ve rocked buns, frohawks, up-dos and plenty of other styles. Now you’re looking for something to change it up a bit while still showing off your healthy tresses. This chunky twist out style is a show stopper and here are the step by step instructions for how to get the look.

How to Get The Look?

    1. First Pre poo hair for 20-30 minutes. You can use anything you like, but for this style “Indian Aztec Clay” was used.

    2. Shampoo and condition as usual.

    3. Apply leave-in and your favorite oil or hair butter.

    4. Section hair into four sections: one big section in the front, one in the middle behind the front section (then part that down the middle to make two side puffs)

    5. Place back into a ponytail

    6. French braid the middle right section toward your left section and then french braid your middle left section toward your right section. Roll ends into a bun and pin into place

    7. Take the back section out of ponytail

    8. Pull apart small sections (whatever size you desire) and twist until all the back is all twisted up

    9. Do the same to the front section.

    10. Let it dry completely

    11. When it is dry, take the individual twist out by untwisting from the bottom to maintain definition

    12. Accessorize (only if you want to)
